KVD-Designed, Quantum PT Engineering
Kevin VanDam has won more money as a professional bass fishermen than anyone, ever. He has raised the bar in the sport to levels that few others will ever even hope to see, and they’re going higher.
Quantum is proud to introduce the 2010 line, the new Tour KVD series of baitcast reels. Designed by Kevin, and engineered with the latest Quantum PT technologies, because he knows exactly what he wants when it’s all on the line.
Built with 11 silky-smooth polymer-stainless PT hybrid bearings, the lightweight, low-profile, one-piece aluminum frame design makes use of a wider spool for handling greater line capacities, and Quantum’s new ACS3 technology allows for monster casts, even in harsh conditions, without worrying about backlash. To further reduce weight, KVD designed in carbon-fiber crank handle and a strong aluminum main gear, and for controlling the battle, there’s a layered PT carbon/ceramic drag system.
There are three KVD models to choose from with varying retrieve rates: 7.3:1 “Burner,” 6.6:1 “Speed,” and 5.4:1 “Power.”

Tour Elite Rods
With guys like KVD, Swindle, Klein, Hackney, Grigsby Biffle and Rojas on your team, when they ask to help design rods specific to the techniques they're famous for, you listen. Quantum designers spent months in the lab fine-tuning these rods to the exact specifications of each pro. Several rounds of prototypes were shipped back and forth between the pros' homes and hotel rooms and our lab, until the exact length, action, blank material and grip style was perfect in the hands, hearts and minds of each pro. Finally, Rojas had a rod that was perfect for froggin', Klein for Flippin, Swindle for dock skippin ... you get the point. Once available just for their use, now available to the angling public. $199
